Yoga Therapy Certification Program Structure
Accredited Clinical Yoga Therapy Certification with Practicum Program
Our Clinical Yoga Therapy Certification with Practicum Program, accredited by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT), offers a robust combination of Clinical Yoga Therapy Foundation Training and a specialized Clinical Practicum course. Upon completing 75 residential hours of Yoga Therapy Foundation courses, students qualify to begin applying their knowledge through case studies in the Yoga Therapy Clinical Practicum.
Comprehensive Clinical Yoga Therapy Foundation Training
The Clinical Yoga Therapy Foundation Training course is meticulously designed to provide a comprehensive, holistic understanding of the musculoskeletal system and other essential bodily systems. This training covers the cardiovascular, digestive, endocrine, nervous, and respiratory systems, with a particular emphasis on the critical mind/body connection. Students will complete take-home case studies, develop personalized Ayurveda protocols, and are required to research, write, and present a detailed paper on their findings, ensuring they gain practical, real-world experience in clinical yoga therapy.
Yoga Therapy Clinical Practicum
Gain hands-on experience in designing and implementing yoga therapy protocols with our Yoga Therapy Clinical Practicum. Students undertake up to ten individual case studies, developing personalized protocols across nine sessions in our free weekly community clinic. Additionally, practicum students lead six group classes, each consisting of five sessions, providing comprehensive training in real-world settings. Clinical findings from individual case studies or group classes are presented during our annual Guru Kula presentations, held in November, typically the weekend before Thanksgiving.
Stay Updated on Practicum Details
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Clinical Practicum schedule and instructors may change. Staying informed about these potential adjustments is crucial. Students have access to the Shala’s internal calendar for the latest updates. Practicum dates are scheduled annually from January 15 to November 15, and students must plan their schedules accordingly to meet their desired graduation timeline.
