Gain a thorough understanding of spinal conditions and how to design and deliver yoga protocol to optimize spinal health. This 26-hour training is appropriate for anyone interested in offering yoga classes or yoga-based tools for spinal health, including yoga teachers, yoga therapists, and wellness/healthcare professionals.

Through lecture, discussion, and small-group practice sessions, we will cover:

  • Spinal and muscular anatomy, including the lumbar, thoracic, and cervical spine
  • Common spinal conditions, including scoliosis, herniated discs, posture issues, arthritis, kyphosis, sciatica, osteoporosis, stenosis, and SI dysfunction
  • How to apply yoga therapy principles to create protocols for these conditions
  • Research presented based on physical therapy and Dr. Loren Fishman’s contribution to the field of spinal yoga therapy
  • Practice creating and delivering protocols
  • Extensive time for Q&A.

The pre-course component includes videos, reading, discussion, and quizzes. Following our time on-site together, students will complete a detailed protocol for a specific condition. For the post-course component, students will present their work and discuss their protocol in a Zoom session with the full group, and receive feedback from instructors.
